Hari cuti tokwan sempat membelek belek laman bekas PM 22 tahun 2 bulan 2 hari Tun Mahathir.

Salam Dr.M

Good points…I think 99% of Malaysians will agree…

I agree with you that all these “cutis” ‘add up to higher cost of production and therefore we will be less competitive.
However, I think that the real reasons are as follows:

1. I think there are too many Islamic holidays.
2. I think there are too many hours wasted on Fridays.
3. I think there is too much wasted working hours during Ramadan.

oh yay!..all of a sudden, Muslims are the culprits for Malaysia’s incompetitive market eh? :D..
1. Do we expect a Muslim country to celebrate more non-Muslim’s holidays?..do Muslims expect at least Hari Raya Puasa and Haji to be celebrated in a country which Muslims is minortiy?(e.g: 18% Muslims in Cyprus = more Muslims holiday?)

2. It’ll be extra 30mins of lunch break in Friday…so are we gonna change our weekend from Sunday to Friday?..hey, this is Muslims country with Christians weekend and we don’t even make a fuss..(don’t worry…even in Quran, Friday is still working day for Muslims 🙂 )

3. the lunch breaks for Muslims are shortened from 1hr to 30mins…ah! Muslims must work extra hours in Ramadhan, eh?

Muslims should sacrifice time and money (take unpaid leave hours; now that is a Jihad!) to pray and not expect Chinese businesses and tax payers (mainly non-Muslims) to subsidise them so that they can be “good” Muslims. I think that is “haram”, but heh, what do I know? I am just a stupid, irrelevant Dhimmi!

oh well..if not because ‘intolerate’ Muslims are the largest customers for every single products and services of yours, can you become the largest tax payers?…I know, this is not a good reasoning, but what should I say to this ‘awesome’ logic of yours :p …
